dc at the ifla world congress tasting the landscape – April the 20th-22nd
Dolomiti contemporanee takes part in Tasting the Landscape, the 53th ifla (International Federation of Landscape Architects) world congress, which is going to be hosted in Turin from the 20th to the 22nd of April 2016.
TTL aims to promote a reflection on the fundamental role of a creative approach to the landscape, which must originate from a concrete and perceptive relationship with the location, and which must lead to an in-depth analysis and to the rehash of those images, practices and symbols that may infulence the pace of the transformation of regions and landscapes.
The four thematic areas are:
Sharing landscape: production of dietary resources and analysis of the potentialities of the post-agricultural landscape.
Connected landscape: going beyond the stiff juxtaposition between conservation and development and supporting connections between the various activities on the territory, so that landscape planning may become a valid tool in the generation of new economies and in the response to the need for landscape development.
Layered landscape: the complexity of the enhancement of locations characterized by historical stratification and overlapping of memories and traditions, a peculiarity that gains a new dimension through contemporary cultural contamination, and the opportunity of reactivation in their spatial and semantic relationships.
Inspiring landscape: starting from a consideration regarding the social function of landscape architecture that puts in relation the act of building with the collective consciousness and heritage, several proposals for the reinvention of the common approach to locations.
Dolomiti Contemporanee is taking part in the fourth theme, Inspiring Landscape.
The title of Gianluca D’Incà Levis’ (DC‘s curator) paper is: Dolomiti Contemporanee: regenerating the landscape’s machines: cultural strategies and the poetics of pragmatism.
