While reminiscent of photography, De Kort‘s work often finds an installative dimension. In the staging of the piece, which has a photographic foundation, the artist expands herself into space, taking advantage of floors and corners, and creates especially built supports for her artwork. Thus, the relationship with space, and a strong, encompassing presence confer Untitled#1 a few typical traits of sculpture as well. The subjects represented recount the affinity born out of encounters with the landscape, and in the landscape, reaffirming the consistency and matter-related nature of the work itself.
