from the back to the forest series
They stand, and look straight ahead, these suspended teenagers. They’re eyes are open, they don’t blink, but they’re not still. There’s a buried tremor in them. A reactive amassed energy. They challenge the incivility of civilization, these carved teens, who are soldiers, even when they’re angels. Reality isn’t vivid. The nature – of the human, of the earth – is far by now, and seems lost. The distance of the human from nature, from real space, has grown. Now these teenagers have decided to come back to Earth. They come out the city. But the gaze isn’t lost, it doesn’t wander. Disoriented, but not lost, they still search. They’ve decided to reenter. Cautious, in the woods. Back to the forest.
