And thus, the aviary, in the Castle.
And in the introductive speeches, the focus was on the potential of this spectacular, unique place. Not a castle in style: a space different from all the others of this genre (genre?). Risen on a massive erratic stone, the amazing construction is now protected by a transparent roofing, which brings among the walls a reflection of the environment outside, and the light invades it, glorifying the inner section, spectacular archaeology, tremendous contemporary graft on the ancient rock reborn; some are asleep, and do not understand, and goodnight to them all.
The castle was thus lightened up, yesterday, with this aviary.
No artwork was put in a box: that is not needed, it’s actually useless, and detrimental.
The artwork were built for this space, in relation to it. Some, through an artist’s Residence: this is how the “Libro di Andraz” (i.e.: Book of Andraz) by Denis Riva was born, painted volume, transfiguration of dreams and ghosts and images and imaginations of this environment, picked then returned, and of this landscape.
The castle isn’t a box, then, container, then, but a generator of images that have entered it, and are in extroverted contact with it. The boys sculpted by Fabiano De Martin Topranin, to inhabit the rooms, in eloquent loneliness, poetic of the feral sweetness. The armoured plates of Giuseppe Vigolo, installed among walled clefts and recesses. The musical-mathematical dream of Loca Chiesura, double concentrated universe, rough with cross-references, which swings with the wind, well –fixed to the mind.
And then, the two performances, to move the space that with the evening dragged without dying in the cold. At 7:00 pm, the first one was held: “Perform Yourself, the Artist is Absent” by Hannes Egger, is another piece of historiated contemporaneity ( in history one must enter, the contemporary is relationship).
The Grup De Bal Fodom has danced, in 15 bright ladino costumes, the waltz and the pairisher, on the red artist-painted stage, and starting from today its “Istruzioni D’Uso” (i.e.: instruction manual) and its headphones music is available to the public, so that the wave may be spread, and yes, spread it is. Then, at 8:30 pm the other performance, fantastic RECOLORATION in the inner space, with sounds by Lorenzo Commisso and Rachele Burgato, and the syncopated and powerful images running on the walls, in the ancient twilight, and it really is exceptional the sense, sensorial, of this place, set to music and images, and the greenery of the palms, there, and my red, subtended abat-jour, resting, forever.
