Let’s make like a tree. the pictures

The drawing as a relationships field, not only symbolic and aesthetical, but social (the aesthetical action as a medium for cultural socialization). Elisa Bertaglia managed to use her own work to build an artistic action focusing on the human context of the town of Casso, putting it into motion, and blending in herself.
The drawings cut in half, the first one given to each of the ten families living in the village, entered in their own homes, brought inside, as the artist intriduced herself, introduced her project. The celebration at the Spazio, some days later, to deliver the other ten halves of the ten drawings, one for each, and to recompose them in a frame, with that mark in the middle, a caesura between the two parts, as a reminder of the division and the re-composition, the necessary presence of the other part, of the double, of the gaze, relative as much to the artwork than the being, since the artwoek is a research for a relationship, as it is the being, the existence. The celebration as illumination, final recognition of the process, of the research, of the synthesis, of the combination. The inhabitants have come; they have listened and they have talked, accepting the exchange, and they’ve come home, bringing with them the re-composed artwork, which now is in their houses, after it came out of Elisa’s mind, out of her determination for a relationship, out of the Spazio, with its determination for openness. Both things come out. Like a tree. From a window. All as some excellent Pinot del Conte D’Attimis was being drunk generously, Lattebusche cheese was being devoured, while waiting for the next vase of Nonino “nectar” to come.
