The main project sites of the 2015 Dolomiti Contemporanee‘s season will be two: the Nuovo Spazio di Casso, from which on June 2014 the International Art Contest Two calls for Vajont has been launched, and the former Eni Village in Borca di Cadore (where Progettoborca is active).

gianluca d’incà levis, curator of dolomiti contemporanee, will take part in one of the scheduled meetings for fatti di cultura – practices meetings experiences, curated by the  fitzcarraldo foundation. the round table will begin from some examples of experiences to give shape and substance to the challenges (and the problematic elements) of the hands-on approach, of the involvement of the “new publics”, of the evolved use of the digital tools and the transformation of spaces and locations.

The former paper factory of vas is dolomiti contemporanee‘s new project site. the amazing complex will became a space for artistic and cultural experimentation. A residency is going to be equipped in August (elena carozzi, beatrice meoni, philippa peckham, maja thommen, silvia vendramel). The specific leading themes will be linked to the warlike regeneration of the place and of its history, and on the production of new images for its present.

dolomiti contemporanee takes part to the xi day of the contemporary, promoted by amaci (italian contemporary art museums association) on saturday, october the 10th 2015. for this occasion, the colonia of the former eni village of corte di cadore will be open to the public.

On September 5th, starting at 3 PM Progettoborca will host another open studio to the Colonia (summer camp building) of the former Eni Village in Borca di Cadore, where lots of artists have been working during the summer. At 6 pm, than, a sound performance will start at the bear’s cage, in the woods of the Colonia.
from 4 PM to 7 PM, then, the church of Nostra Signora del Cadore will be open to the public.

an economist of cultural activities (pier luigi sacco) playing electronic music – in a terraforming sequence – and a visual artist and musician (roberto paci dalò)? a match between disk and machines, where the bpm of the best tradition minimal techno meet rushes of strumental sounds and modular synths. and where sacco and paci dalò talk each other in a performance especially (and exceptionally) created for #progettoborca.

for the second year, in the municipality of forni di sopra, dolomiti contemporanee curates a day of public meeting dedicated to contemporary mountain landscapes. The geography of the cultural and economic landscapes will be the leading theme. The day is divided into two session, one in the morning (from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM) and one in the afternoon (4:30 – 6:00 PM).

on august the 7th, triomomentum will perform in a concert at the upper terrace of the nuovo spazio di casso. 
the set list involves a series of pieces, alternated to improvisations linked to the absolutely unique atmosphere of the location.

on saturday, july the 18th, at 5 pm, at the nuovo spazio di casso, the results of the international artistic contest two calls for vajont, launched by dolomiti contemporanee in june 2014, will be presented. during the evening, twocalls, la forma delle idee (eng.: the shape of ideas), a display of some of the projects selected for the final phase of the contest, is going to be inaugurated.
in this occasion will also be presented the schedule of dolomiti contemporanee’s events in casso and in the friulian dolomites.

Colonia of the former Eni Village of Borca di Cadore

On Saturday July the 11^th, the fifth season of Dolomiti Contemporanee (DC) will be launched: terraformazione.
During the afternoon-evening it will be possible to visit the Colonia and some structures of the former Eni Village. The new offices of Dolomiti Contemporanee and the latest artworks realised by the artists taking part in the residency program in Borca will also be presented.

dc has taken part in the chiavi di accesso project, contemporary art in the history of the places, which has developed their own activities between the winter of 2014 and the spring of 2015. The round tavle of June the 9th traces an evaluation of the experience, and brings forth the story of some recent projects, that have chosen to operate for the cultural enhancement of mountain territories through the contemporary.

dolomiti contemporanee will host a day dedicated to culture and contemporary art. a talk, open to the public. the talk will be divided in two sessions: in the first one, the international artistic contest two calls for vajont will be presented. some members of the contest‘s jury will take part in the event, as well as some of the artists who have participated, who will briefly present their project. during the second session of the conference-debate, will be presented some project that, in recent years, have involved the vajont area, and the relationship of its landscape with its history, researching its cultural, social and antropological, landscape-related and aesthetic aspects, with the aim of framing new models which aren’t merely analytical, but that allow for partecipation as well.

in the set-up of the scene in the theatrical performance medea-metamorfosi, by the director patricia zanco, the scultoreal elements of la legrosega panduda, a performative installation realised by the artist andrea grotto, and produced by dolomiti contemporanee will be present as well.

The event is included in the initiatives launched in the context of Dolomiti Days, and is realized on assignment from the Province of Pordenone and in collaboration with the Province of Udine and the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation. During the meeting various guests and relators, who will bring their point of view on the titular themes, will take part in the discussion.
